One thing that I would like to change about Kolkata Transport

The hand-pulled rickshaw of kolkata: The most "inhumane" , century old transport still existing in the city. These are the 'human horses' that ferry people. The hand-drawn rickshaw should be put off from the roads of Kolkata. This is a very inhuanitarian kind of job where the pullers at times pull more than their own weight. 
Few years back this issue was raised by the government but of no joy. This mode of transport still persists especially in the older parts of Kolkata. One can find   these hand pulled rickshaws prominent during the monsoon when the roads of the city are flooded. 
 An alternate livelihood for all the pullers ( something like a cycle rickshaw) should be provided before the mode of transport is banned.Nowhere else in the world does this practice exist and I think it should also cease to exist in Calcutta.
